Microsoft leases 22,905 sqm and 500 parking spaces in Campus 6 office complex developed by Swedish investor Skanska in Bucharest. It’s the biggest office rentals transaction sealed yet this year in Romania.

The company will move in the new offices in the third quarter of 2020.

Construction of Campus 6 complex will be ready by 2022, consisting of four office buildings with a total rental surface of approximately 81,000 sqm and a 7,500 sqm urban garden. Situated at the intersection of two main boulevards, Iuliu Maniu and Vasile Milea, the complex benefits from excellent visibility and access to public transportation (underground and streetcar, buses and trolleybuses).

Employees will also have a car sharing service as well as parking places and fast charging stations for electric cars. Also, those who come by bicycle to work will have access to dressing rooms and showers. The buildings in which Microsoft will move will be certified LEED Gold and WELL Silver, and are built according to Skanska’s sustainable development environmental principles.

Employees will also benefit of a rooftop running track as well as of green work areas equipped with multifunctional furniture, electrical sockets and Wi-Fi.

”Campus 6 will be the first office buildings in Romania to receive WELL certification. The reason Microsoft chose Campus 6 office buildings for their employees is a confirmation of the fact that, for us, wellbeing translates both through solutions that improved user comfort”Aurelia Luca, managing director of Skanska Property Romania said in a press release.

Microsoft was assisted in the negotiations by JLL real estate consultancy.

”Following JLL’s analysis, Microsoft has decided to consolidate and expand its operations in Romania, in the center-west part of Bucharest, an area that offers excellent working conditions for employees. We are delighted that we have been involved in one of the largest office transactions that has been completed in Bucharest over the last 6 years, ”Maria Florea, head of Office at JLL Romania said.
