Medicover reached revenues of EUR 66 mln in Romania at nine months

Medicover, the international health and diagnosis company, presented the interim report for the first nine months of 2018. In Romania, Medicover revenues increased with 20 percent to EUR 66 million.

Medicover recorded a 14.7% percent increase in global revenue over the period similar to the previous year, reaching a total value of EUR 490.4 million.

”The dynamics of the markets we are active continue to be favorable for our core operations, with a low unemployment rate, good economic development and strong demand for private health services. We continue to focus on the accessibility and quality of services we offer to meet market demand, ”said Fredrik Ragmark, CEO of Medicover.

At group level, in the first nine months of the year, the Medical Services Division recorded revenue growth of 18.7 percent to EUR 248.4 million compared to the similar period in 2017. The Diagnostic Services Division also had higher earnings after the first nine months of the year, up 11 percent, to a value of EUR 250.1 million.

On the Romanian market, the group’s revenues increased by 20 percent in the first nine months of the year, compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching a total value of EUR 66 million. Romania is the third market as a share of group income, after Poland and Germany.

The Medical Services Division in Romania (present through the Medicover hospital and clinics) recorded, after the first nine months of the year, a total revenue of 26.6 million euros, while the Division of Diagnostic Services (present through the network of laboratories and harvesting centers Synevo) had a total revenue of EUR 39.4 million.

”The 25 percent increase registered by the Medical Services Division in Romania to a value of EUR 26.6 million  shows that more and more Romanians want to be treated at the highest medical level. Growth comes in an important period for us in which we have managed to expand into two new key regions and consolidate our position in Bucharest following the completion of three strategic transactions. We will continue to invest in network development and improve customer experience, ”said Adrian Peake, General Manager of Medicover Romania.

Medicover Clinic Network in Romania increased by 50 percent to 37 units as a result of the transactions completed in the first nine months of the year. ”We want to offer the best diagnostic solutions for patients in each county in Romania. After the first nine months, we managed to expand our network of collection centers with 17 new units, now having a strong presence in 30 counties and 39 cities in Romania. At the same time, we continued to invest in the acquisition of state-of-the-art laboratory equipment, as well as in expanding the portfolio of services in the area of ​​genetics and histopathology, ”said Laurenţiu Luca, general manager Synevo Romania.

Medicover Romania has been present for over 23 years on the private health services market and has a network of 37 clinics in Bucharest and the country, and two general hospitals in the capital – Medicover Hospital – and Oradea – Pelican Hospital.
