The market of 3D television sets will total this year approximately 8,000 units, which is twice as much as last year, according to estimations made by Stefan Ichim, country manager of the local subsidiary of Japanese company Panasonic, quoted by Ziarul Financiar.
Last year, Panasonic sold in Romania more than 1,000 3D TV sets, he said. This year the company expects to double the sales of 3D television sets. The number of 3D TV sets sold on the market was 4,000 units.
“The market will rise due to the pressure on the prices. We will sell 2,000 units. We wish to maintain our market share,” he said.
Panasonic posted a turnover of EUR 57.8 million in the fiscal year 2010-2011, which represents a 5 percent growth in the turnover. This year, the company expects its turnover to register a 20 percent growth on last year.
“This year the entire market will grow by 20 percent and this evolution is not necessarily based on a growth in the purchase power. Romanians already have two years of financial crisis behind them, and they are used to it. They have to keep on living,” said Ichim, quoted by ZF.
