Management contract between Asesoft International and Realitatea Media is cancelled

Rovigo, the legal administrator appointed by the Bucharest Court in charge of the currently insolvent Realitatea Media has denounced the management contract between the media entity and Asesoft International, controlled by businessman Sebastian Ghita, according to paginademedia.ro.

The EUR 75 million contract was signed on October 24, 2010, and has been in time the issue of many misunderstandings between Ghita and the former owner of Realitatea Media, media mogul Sorin Ovidiu Vantu.

This measure comes shortly after Rovigo announced the National Audio-visual Council that a hostile takeover of the TV channel was under way. The text of the document implied that Ghita was involved in this situation.

“The couple Sorin Ovidiu Vantu- Elan Schwartzenberg (ed. nte: current owner) are trying to destroy Realitatea TV. It would be natural for the signed contracts to be respected, not denounced. These gentlemen are only thinking about how to fool their partners and creditors. It is not that easy with us,” said businessman Sebastian Ghita, adding that “Asesoft has a TV license and can broadcast with or without the agreement of Mr. Vantu and Schwartzenberg.”

“I recommend to them as always, to take this to court. Either way, the only path I see for the company is bankruptcy. Asesoft International would become the highest creditor with over 51 percent of the debt, and will ask for the bankruptcy,” said Ghita.
