The income tax could go fully to the local community and the decision will be taken by a normative act before the budget for 2019 is finalized, Minister of Public Finance Eugen Teodorovici said to the Chamber of Deputies.

”It is a measure that we have in the Governance Program that 100 percent of the income tax passes to the local communities. This is a decision that will be taken by a normative act. It will have to be decided before the budget for 2019 is finalized, ”Eugen Teodorovici said.

He mentioned that there will be a discussion on the formula of dividing the amounts between county councils and other local communities.

He also said that the ordinance should be issued in October or early November at the latest.

Remain to be seen how will the government cover a loss of this amount, which in the first eight month of the year reached RON 15 billion.
