Loan debts of Romanians grow in January, says BNR

The back payments for loans in RON went up by 2.23 percent to RON 5.95 billion and for debts in foreign currency were up by 0.13 percent to RON 7.46 billion in January 2017, according to a report of the National Bank of Romania (BNR).

The total loans in RON reached in January RON 125.5 billion (by 0.55 percent under the value from December) out of which RON 55.87 billion were the amounts contracted by companies and RON 66.3 billion loans from individuals.

The loans in foreign currency amounted to RON 95.33 billion in January 2017 (by 1.45 percent less than in December), out of which RON 46.6 billion in loans were contracted by companies and RON 46.4 billion loans taken by the population.

The total stock of loans in RON contracted in Bucharest reached RON 43.55 billion and the foreign currency loans reached RON 44.91 billion.
