Loan debt of Romanian firms and individuals falls slightly in December

The total back payments loans in the local currency of the population and firms registered in December 2016, amounted to RON 5.82 billion, which is a drop of 2.02 percent compared with the amount in November and the back payments loans in foreign curreny dropped by 4.12 percent to RON 7.45 billion, according to a report of the National Bank of Romania (BNR).

The total loans in the local currency reached RON 126.2 billion in December (by 0.4 percent over the value from the previous month), out of which RON 56.66 billion were amounts contracted by the economic agents and RON 66.09 billion loans taken by population.

The loans in foreign currency amounted to RON 96.73 billion in December (by one percent lower than November), out of which RON 47.24 billion loans contracted by the economic agents and RON 47.09 billion loans taken by population.

Bucharest citizens had at the end of December back payment loans of RON 1.48 billion and RON 3.2 billion in foreign currency.

The total loans in RON in RON 44.38 billion and the deniminated loans in foreign currency reached RON 45.79 billion.
