The LinkedIn professional network, which has more than 100 million users worldwide, announced that starting today LinkedIn will also be available in Romanian.
Apart from the Romanian version, LinkedIn has also launched a version in Turkish and Russian. LinkedIn was also available previously in other six languages: English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.
More than 400,000 employees in Romania already have a LinkedIn profile and over 1,000 groups have a connection with Romania.
Large companies such as Romtelecom, Petrom and Romstal have dedicated LinkedIn pages.
The industries that have the best LinkedIn presence in Romania are financial-banking industry, IT& services and telecom.
The three companies that have the highest number of employees with LinkedIn accounts are Petrom, BCR and Romtelecom.
“The launch of the version in Romanian will cater for the increasing number of Romanian users who create personal accounts on LinkedIn. Our number of members in Eastern Europe is growing continually and I think LinkedIn has a strong growth potential in this region. The launch in the local version of our website often attracts a totally new generation of users, thus improving the user experience on LinkedIn for the entire community,” said Ariel Eckstein, general manager of LinkedIn Europe.
