French DIY retailer Leroy Merlin will open its second store in Craiova on June 29. The store has an area of 11,200 sqm, 100 employees and offers a range of 30,000 products and over 380 parking spaces.
The 100 employees of the store will offer shelf counseling for product acquisition, personalized solutions for landscaping or home and garden customization tailored to the needs and budget of each client.
The first 13,000 sqm Leroy Merlin store in Craiova was inaugurated in 2014 and was also the first store in the southern region of the country.
Leroy Merlin counted 10 million customers in all stores in Romania, becoming the number two on the DIY market.
“We are very pleased with the way the first store in Craiova was received by the southern area of the country, so we decided that by the middle of this year we will open the second store. The residents of Craiova are very enterprising and they also spend time and budgets for the construction and decoration of houses,” said Frederic Lamy, general manager Leroy Merlin.
The DIY retailer has nearly 500 stores in 13 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. At present, the French operates 17 stores in Romania with over 2,000 employees in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Craiova, Ploiesti, Brasov, Constanta, Sibiu, Suceava, Targu Mures, Bacău, Iasi, Timisoara and Oradea.
