The Parliament decided on Wednesday through vote to appoint Eugen Nicolaescu as vice governor of the National Bank of Romania (BNR) and as member of the Administration Council of BNR.
For the appointment of Nicolaescu, there were 275 votes for and 39 against.
Nicolaescu,who is a liberal MP, will replace Bogdan Olteanu, who resigned from his position as vice governor of the BNR, after anti-graft prosecutors started an investigaton against him.
Nicolaescu was previously validated by the reunited commissions of budget and finance in Parliament with 31 votes and will continue 5-year mandate of Olteanu.
