Georgi Roussev has been appointed general director of Europharm Distributie (EPH), as the company has been integrated into Interbrands Marketing & Distribution (IBR).
EPH remains a company within IBR and its role is not changes: EPH will continue to operate as one of the most important players on the pharma distribution market, offering clients and the patients healthcare products .
Roussev has played an essential role in the last two years in closing the transaction. Since December 2013, he was the financial director of GSK Pharma and EPH in Romania and from April he was divestment lead and financial director of EPH. Also, in the last three years, Roussev was dedicated to all the key decisions regarding EPH and reconfirmed the business strategy of the company.

“It’s a great advantage and a great responsibility to be appointed general director of EPH, a company that I’ve been part of in the last three years. Our main goal will be to reposition EPH as a strong player in this sector, that offers high quality services of pharmacies, hospitals and pharma products companies. In the near future we’ll focus upon the increase in the geographic coverage of the small rural and urban areas, the increase and improvement of services quality of the sales representatives and over the logistic infrastructure development, “ said Roussev.
“EPH is not only a stable and financially solid company, but also one of the most important players from the pharma distribution market. To become its leader, Interbands will support it both through investments but also through the cherishing all the opportunities offered by this sector,“ said Rand Sherif, CEO Interbrands.
In October 2015, GSK signed a sales agreement of EPH towards IBR. The transaction was approved by the Competition Council from Romania in March.
EPH has been present on the local market for 20 years, recording sales of EUR 200 million. The company has currently around 500 employees.
