Key Move. Gefco names Anthony Gunn as executive vice-president for freight forwarding operations

The Gefco group named Anthony Gunn as the head of freight forwarding operations. He was also appointed member of the Executive Board.

With over 25 years of experience in the logistics sector, Anthony Gunn developed and carried out major transformation projects in Europe, the United States and Asia in this field. Projects varied from the creation and running of return centers for global e-commerce market leaders to distribution for natural sciences laboratories in the United States and including the sale of spare parts and retail in Asia.

Anthony Gunn’s role at Gefco is to accelerate the profitability of the transport activity, consolidating the company’s position as a global player in industrial logistics.

“I am happy to join the Gefco group, a leader in auto and industrial logistics, with a unique expertize in building long-term collaborations with global players,” Gunn said. “I see a lot of opportunities, of synergies at Gefco our clients will benefit from, such as developing strategic corridors and progress with digitalization. Our teams are taking a commitment to support our clients in consolidating supply chains, as well as economic growth and competitiveness.”

Previously, Gunn was XPO Logistics General Director for Europe, a company that was previously known as Menlo, which he joined in 2000 and where he held several leadership positions. Throughout the 16 years he spent in Menlo, and in XPO Logistics, Gunn gathered around a tea of experts that doubled the company’s turnover and the profit of the company in the region.

Gunn started his career in the defense sector, being active in the area of purchase and supply, before joining the semiconductors industry, where he was responsible for managing the supply chain of a US producer and market leader in the US and Europe.

Gunn has an MBA from Napier University in Edinburgh.
