Cezar Botel, the director of Modelling and Macroeconomics Forecasts Direction from the National Bank of Romania (BNR), will take the role of representative of Romania to the International Monetary Funds (IMF) from September 1, said the BNR governor, Mugur Isarescu, according to HotNews.
“Cezar Botel will represent Romania at IMF starting from September 1. He started his career at BNR in the 90’s, then in US, where he successfully obtained a PhD, the taught at an American university and then he came back at the beginning of 2000s’ and made a direction formed of specialist young people, the Modelling Direction, “ said Isarescu.
According to Isarescu, Botel will be replaced by Tudor Grosu at the BNR.
Botel is not the first employee of BNR who represents Romania at IMF. There was also Lia Tase, who was sent in the 90’s. When Tase retired, George Mucibabici took her place.
