Japanese cryptocurrency exchanges plan self-regulation after USD 530 mln digital heist

Reuters cites sources according to which sixteen Japanese cryptocurrency exchanges will fix plans as early as next week to create a self-regulating body.

The exchanges aim to safeguard investors after a USD 530 million digital money heist last month.

According to the sources, the Japanese want a new regulation body for crypto registered with its Financial Services Association.

Initially, players wanted to merge the Japan Cryptocurrency Business Association and Japan Blockchain Association.
