For Romanian shoe and accessories maker Musette, 2017 meant more efficient work processes and better productivity and performance. Cristina Batlan, co-founder of the company, says that this year, the focus will be on new project ideas designed to maintain or increase growth in the near future.
She also paints the concept of success as something that isn’t limited to the wellbeing of her business. “For me, success is the ability to do what I love every day. I also measure success by my ability to help others. The more people I can help, the more successful I consider myself to be,” the co-founder told BR.
Batlan, who started Musette when she was 18 years old, also talks about the legacy of relevant contribution to the society in which a business operates. “Whether that means having time to devote to educational organizations, to charity or volunteering – if I’ve got the time to help others, it means my businesses are being well run and are profitable. During life we take, we receive a lot from others; but what really counts is what we put back, those things that you make that people after you will use,” she says.
In an age in which people are turning more to Industry 4.0, marked by automation in all sections of the manufacturing process, Batlan says that for Musette, “innovation is ongoing.” “The ideas that make us different from computers and robots,” says the entrepreneur of the company’s innovation drive.
