The unemployment rate dropped by 0.1 percentage points in August compared to the previous month, to 5.1 percent, according to a release of the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
„The number of unemployed (aged between 15-74 years), estimated for August was 465,000 persons, a drop compared with the previous month (478,000 persons), as well as compared with the same month of 2016 (510,000 persons). On genders, the unemployment rate for men exceeded the one of women by 2.4 percentage points (6.1 percent in case of males and 3.7 percent in case of females),” according to INS.
For adults (25-74 years), the unemployment rate was estimated to 4.3 percent for August (5.3 percent for men and 2.9 percent for women).
The number of unemployed between 25-74 years represented 77.8 percent of the overall number of unemployed estimated for August.
