INS: Retail trade up 10.7 pct in 2017

According to the National Institute of Statistics, the volume of retail trade had a 10.7 percent growth in 2017 compared to the previous year.

The growth was mainly due to the increase in the sale of non-food products (+13.2 percent), automobile fuel sales in specialised stores (+12.4 percent) and the sale of food, drinks and tobacco (+6.8 percent).

In December 2017, the turnover from retail sales increased by 7 percent from November 2017, and by 13.4 percent compared to December 2016.
