InfoClick launches subscribers’ directory and information service

“It is an obligation and legal requirement that all operators submit their databases, containing individual and corporate users of fixed and mobile operators, subscribers who have agreed to make such data publicly available and part of the national directory. The subscriber details available in the database include telephone numbers, fax numbers and address information. Therefore, the national directory service is the most complete database in Romania,” said Kostas Papadopoulos, general manager of InfoClick. “We currently have over 3 million contacts in our database.” Thus far, the call center in Romania has 50 employees, and the team will be expanded based on the needs of the market. The service is a result of the collaboration between InfoClick and Newsphone Hellas, one of its shareholders. InfoClick has Newsphone Hellas as minority shareholder, while the company's majority stake is controlled by different private holdings. Newsphone Hellas has also operated the National Directory Assistance Service via the short code 11880 in Greece, since August 2005. Infoclick was established in 2008, to operate in the telephone directory market. Since its establishment, it has participated in the telephone directory services number assignment process, which took place in December 2008. Following this process, the firm was assigned the 118 800 short code. In June 2009, following a tender, it was chosen by the National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications of Romania (ANCOM) to be the universal telephone directory services provider.
