Industrial spaces and logistics stock from Bucharest up by 10 times in the last 13 years to 1.2 mln sqm

The industrial and logistics spaces stock from Bucharest went up by 10 times in the last 13 years up to 1.2 million square meters, supported mainly by the positive evolution of consumption and purchasing power, according real estate consultancy Cushman & Wakefield Echinox.

„The stock from then gradually increased until 2009, when it reached approximately 900,000 sqm. In the last three years, the development trend came back, so that the constructions volume was 200,000 sqm. This year, it will exceed the level of 2016, estimating the delivery of new spaces of over 250,000 sqm, so that the stock will reach 1.5 million sqm,” said Rodica Tarcavu, senior consultant, Industrial Agency Cushman & Wakefield Echinox.

The entrance on Bucharest- Pitesti highway remained the preferred area for logistics spaces developers, so that 70 percent of the current storage is focused on 13th and 23rd km, two reference points in local logistics market. Also, 80 percent of the stock that will be delivered this year is focused on the Bucharest- Pitesti highway.
