Huawei Romania: ”A friend in need is a friend indeed”

Huawei Romania answered allegations made by US Ambassador Adrian Zuckerman regarding Huawei donations in Romania and Europe, the company has launched a response to his accusations and unjust statements, which he considers to be inadequate in the current global situation.

”As a company that has been operating in Romania for 18 years, employing over 2,300 hardworking men and women, we consider it is our duty to take responsibility during the current difficult times Romania faces. During these decades of hard work and great success, made possible by our Romanian employees, we as a company stood near the Romanian nation for good and bad.

We noticed therefore with profound regret, recent attacks by some people, including certain senior foreign diplomats, against the good deeds done by the Romanian employees from Huawei, during the worse medical crisis Romania has ever known. Huawei sees these actions to be incorrect and as against the common sense.

Huawei Romania believes that a friend in need is a friend indeed. We support the efforts made by everyone in the community in helping the country and its citizens during these hard times and, now more than ever, we consider is not the time for malicious words and political statements. Politicizing this tragedy will not help in any way Romania to get over the challenges it faces.

We are all Romanian today and we choose to do the right thing, what we have done constanty in the last 18 years: to be solidary, to involve ourselfs and to bring a positive contribution to the Romanian social and economic environment.”
