Huawei opens global support center in Romania. Local team will number 1,500 people by 2014

Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer Huawei Technologies plans to open a global support center in Romania, according to information from the Ministry of Communications.

 This would be the fourth global support center of the company. The first three global support centers are located in China, India and Mexico.

 By the end of 2014, Huawei will have 1,500 employees in Romania, of whom 80 percent will be Romanian, according to Jeff Wang, general manager of Huawei Romania.

 Representatives of the Ministry of Communications- Valerian Vreme, minister of communications and Radu Bogdan Savonea, the Communication Ministry’s cabinet director met representatives of the Chinese company- Jeff Wang, general manager and Vlad Doicaru, director of the enterprise division for Romania and Moldova.

 Huawei Technologies is a Chinese private company founded in 1987, which posted revenues of USD 28 billion last year. The company is present in 140 countries, while in Romania it established a presence in 2004. 

In Romania, Huawei posted a turnover of EUR 69.2 million last year, according to the financial data posted on the website of the Finance Ministry.
