Households from Romania saved monthly on average RON 335.2 last year

The households from Romania saved monthly on average RON 335.2 last year, respectively 12.5 percent from the total incomes, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

“The situation in analyzed households is presented in this way: households comprising retired people saved on average 14 percent from the incomes, working households 13 percent, freelancers in non- agricultural activities 10 percent, the agricultural ones 7.4 percent, while in unemployed households there were insignificant savings of one percent, “says the INS.

According to INS, the lowest savings (until 10 percent from the total income) were registered in households with 3-4 and more children (8 percent for both categories), in households formed by single persons (7.5 percent), in households with ages between 15-24 years (7.1 percent) and the ones led by persons with primary school education 4.5 percent).

The incomes overpassed the costs by 15 percent in households from the category of university education level (15.6 percent).

The difference between incomes and household costs from rural area were in 2015 10.1 percent, while in urban area were registered on average savings of 13.9 percent from the total incomes.

In 2015 the total incomes were RON 2.687 monthly in households.
