Home construction up by 23.4 percent in November 2017

In November 2017 the Romanian constructions sector decreased by 4.2 percent year-on-year, due to the decline of infrastructure and non-residential constructions. On the other hand, home constructions increased significantly, by 23.4 percent, according to data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).

In October, construction works decreased by 13.4 percent year-on-year. In November, the volume of constructions decreased for non-residential buildings by 11.8 percent and for infrastructure by 8.3 percent.

Maintenance and current repair works decreased by 38.1 percent. New constructions and capital works increased by 10.2 percent, respectively 1.7 percent.

In the first 11 months of last year, the volume of construction works decreased as gross series by 6.9 percent. Maintenance and current repair works decreased by 25.1 percent and for capital works by 19.9 percent. Constructions of new buildings increased by 2.8 percent. Infrastructure works decreased by 23.2 percent and non-residential constructions were down by 14.1 percent. Residential buildings increased by 68 percent.
