Hezy Ovadia, the CEO of URBB, has been appointed president of the Brewers of Romania Association. He is replacing Jan Derck van Karnebeek, managing director of Heineken Romania who has held the position since March 2010.
“By representing five of the major beer producers in Romania, as well as two manufacturers of malt and hops, the association is not only the voice of an important sector of the Romanian economy considering that 99 percent of the beer consumed in Romania is also produced locally, but also that of a product with a long tradition for the Romanian way of life,” said the new president of the Brewers of Romania Association.
Ovadia has 19 years of professional experience in various managerial positions in FMCG companies, including Carlsberg Group – Israel Beer Breweries. He holds an EMBA from the Tel Aviv University, and has been part of the board of administration of Tuborg Romania.
