37 national roads (DN) and 80 county roads (DJ) as well as the A1 and A2 highways are blocked this morning due to heavy snow fall in the past 24 hours and blizzard, informs Mediafax. Air traffic was also affected with 13 flights from the Henri Coanda International Airport and three form the Baneasa airport being cancelled.
Among the closed National roads there are: DN1D Urziceni – Albesti-Paleologu; DN22 Ramnicu Sarat – Braila; DN2C Costesti – Slobozia; DN2M Focsani- OdobeÅ�ti; -DN23B Maicanesti – Ciorasti; DN2N Bogza – Caiata – Dumbraveni and others.
The police recommend drivers to check before leaving whether their route is open for traffic and to heave their cars equipped for winter conditions.
This Wednesday the National Meteorogical Administration issued a code orange warning for snow and blizzard for Bucharest and 17 counties in Southern and Eastern Romania. Wind is expected to blow by more than 90km per hour in these areas
Other 14 counties are under code yellow warning until this evening.
