Happy tour posted around EUR 50 million sales growth in 2016, up by 10 percent year-on-year, on the back of an advance in the business travel segment, the growth of domestic tourism, and the company’s becoming Romania’s exclusive tour operator for Disneyland.

According to a press release, the company’s client corporate portfolio increased by 10 percent year-on-year, with new clients coming from the banking, auto and agriculture sector.

“Happy Tour maintains the growth trend recorded in the past years, namely the international development strategy, in 2016 by opening an office in Istanbul, the third after Bucharest and Sofia. Both in 2016, as well as this year, we are focusing on the company development,” Javier Garcia del Valle, group CEO said.

In 2016, domestic tourism increased by 40 percent, with clients opting for team buildings and company parties. On the leisure sector, trips to the seaside increased, as well as to Bucovina and to spa resorts, and continued to grow throughout January.

“Holiday vouchers were a means to stimulate domestic tourism and this is reflected in the increase of the growth of the sales volume and demand for holidays in Romania. In 2017, we expect a doubling of the volume,” and “a 25 percent increase compared to the EUR 1.4 million in 2016” del Valle said.

Last year Happy Tour became exclusive tour operator for Disneyland Paris. Subsequently, demand for trips to this destination increased by 150 percent.

Happy Tour Group is affiliated to FCM Travel Solutions. In 2016 FCM Travel Solutions was named for the sixth time in a row the best management travel company at World Travel Awards.
