Half of Romanian stock exchange indices have grown by more than 8 pct in 2018

Of all the stock exchange indices in Romania, half have grown by more than 8 percent since the beginning of the year, and the BET, which shows the evolution of the most traded 13 companies on the regulated market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), has increased by 8.49 percent.

The biggest growth, of 8.64 percent, was for BET-NG, which shows the evolution of companies listed on the regulated market that are mainly active in the energy and related utilities sector.

BET-BK, an index built to be used as a benchmark by fund administrators and other institutional investors, has increased by 6.69 percent, while BET-XT, which reflects the evolution of the most highly traded 25 companies, including financial investments societies, has grown by 7.83 percent. BET-TR, which reflects the evolution of prices for included companies and their dividends, had an 8.54 percent growth.

The BETPlus index, which shows the evolution of Romanian companies on BVB which meet the minimal selection criteria regarding liquidity and the value of shares included in free float, with the exception of financial investments societies, has a growth of 8.2 percent.

The lowest growth, of 6.18 percent, is for the BET-FI, the index of financial investment societies.

Since the beginning of 2018 there have been 41 transaction sessions, and the total value of transactions is over RON 2.64 billion, with an average daily value of RON 64.9 million.
