During 2016-2017, “Hai la Olimpiada!” program invested RON 1.05 million in trainings for 3,286 students from 12 cities from Romania. At the same time, the program supported the preparation of Romanian students who won a gold medal and three silver medals at the International Olympiad of Physics and Math this year and the Asian Olympiad of Physics, where the students won a gold medal and two silver medals.
The program was supported by eMAG foundation and BCR.
During the 48th edition of the Physics International Olympics from Yogyakarta, Indonesia, which was attended by students from 88 countries, the Romanian team won the first place in Europe and the fifth worldwide.
„These results confirm once more that in Romania there are both children with potential for performance, as well as teachers who know to discover them. The medals obtained by the Romanian teams motivate us to bring forward the program ”Hai la Olimpiadă!, ” said Tudor Vlad, president of the foundation eMAG pentru Educatie.
The program was initiated by the eMAG foundation in 2012.
