Golin agency communicates the partnership between retailer Lidl and World Vision – Bread and Tomorrow, a program dedicated to the fight against the school abandonment.

Romania has one of the highest school dropout rates in Europe and the main reason why children give up their education is poverty.

In order to help the pupils from the disadvantaged areas continue their studies and to make sure they will be able to provide for themselves when they grow up. Lidl Romania is World Vision’s partner in the pilot edition of the program „Paine si Maine” (Bread also tomorrow).

Lidl has donated EUR 100,000 to enable this stage of the program. Therefore, over 200 pupils from Dolj and Valcea got each day a hot meal that contains the necessary nutrients for a normal development and corresponds to all the quality standards and food safety. Moreover, during the program, the little ones participate in extra-school activities that help their learning process.

„The school abandonment shouldn’t be justified, but discouraged, and a hot meal a day and the additional support can help the little ones see school with other eyes, to participate at all the hours and to  choose a profession that will ensure them a better living. Therefore we got involved with a lot of determination in the World Vision program and our communication partner Golin helped us make this initiative more visible,” said Maria Parvuleasa, PR & CSR manager, Lidl Romania.

In order to see how the program is efficiently implemented, journalists form national and local publications, alongside bloggers, were invited in two villages from the Stoilesti locality, Valcea County.

„Through this visit we proposed ourselves that the journalists and the bloggers to see and live the reality, to understand the importance of the implementation of such a project for the participant families,” added Roxana Diba, manager, Golin.

The program aims to help over 2.500 children form disadvantaged areas of the country. The pilot program was implemented in 6 villages in Dolj and Valcea, but it will be extended in other villages from the two counties, being also joint by the Vaslui County.

The Golin team involved in the program comprised Roxana Diba (Manager), Casiana Ionascu (Senior Media Associate) and Bianca Cenusescu (Media Associate).
