After a year of pause, due to the global pandemic, the festival is back stronger than ever with a 25% increase in entries in the renewed festival competition! The 27th Golden Drum will celebrate the great creative work produced over the past two years.
Miha Bevc, Competition Director, welcomed the creative industry’s positive response and said that “After a silent year, Golden Drum is finally back – and it’s drumming as loud as ever. The competition has been thoroughly rethought and now features not two, but five sections: One-Channel Drum, Omni-Channel Drum, Craft Drum, Creative Business Excellence Drum, and additional All Juries section focused on special themed competition groups. We are glad to say the entrants have been loud too as we have registered approximately 25% more entries than in 2019. We were obviously not the only ones who missed Golden Drum last year and we kindly invite you not to miss it this year.”
The festival has not only raised the support of the creative world but also of the brands that continue to invest in the creative field of the business.
The new competition structure has encountered a positive reaction and huge support, as the number of submitted works has surpassed all expectations, indicating that the festival is more relevant than ever.
Špela Levičnik Oblak, Competition Director, pointed out that “This year we have received entries from 29 different countries with Russia, Romania, Slovakia, and Turkey in the forefront. A whopping 41 percent of work comes from independent agencies. We are extremely pleased with the number and diversity of the work. The largest section is the Omni-Channel, followed by One-Channel, while the brand-new section Creative Business Excellence made an excellent start with the most entries in Activation, Creative Effectiveness, and Content. Golden Drum’s unique group Genius Loci/Local Spirit is traditionally doing well and so is the Social Good group. Here entries will be shortlisted by all the juries and judged for awards by the four jury presidents. Let’s celebrate the best ideas, best individuals, and best teams! The Golden Drum 2021 is about to start!”
It is a busy week for the 63 jury members, the world’s most accomplished professionals coming from 28 countries, who are judging the greatest ideas entered into the renewed Golden Drum competition. Agencies from 29 different countries have submitted their creative work, therefore the decision, who will make it to the shortlist and step onto the podium of the best in the region, is far from easy.

- 15 October at 19.00 CET – the winners will be announced (during Online Grand Award Ceremony, a special free-of-charge gala event powered by Mastercard).
