GMP’s Mihai Gongu advances in the international network at Jung von Matt

After five years of leading GMP Advertising’s creative department, Mihai Gongu, 36, advances in the partner network, Jung von Matt, in the Berlin headquarters. At the same time, Mihai will continue to collaborate with GMP on strategic partnerships, enhancing the agreements between the agency and the German network.

„Thank you, Mihai, for the first stage of our relationship. I wish you to create better and better campaigns in Berlin, but also in Bucharest,” said Felix Tataru, president GMP Group.

At Jung von Matt Berlin, Mihai Gongu will coordinate the communication of the European account Mini, as creative director.

„I wanted to work at European level and I am glad I am succeeding in doing this, but also remain close to GMP, the agency where I had the biggest professional accomplishments. I am sure that the team in Bucharest, coordinated by Olivia Basag, will continue to write history for the courageous clients of the greatest CEE independent agency,” said on his turn Mihai Gongu.

Mihai, one of the key people behind the most famous promotion campaign for Romania, Why Don’t You Come Over?, will join Jung von Matt/Spree starting August 7.

„I’ve met Mihai four years ago, at the network’s creatives’ meetings. I am very happy that he is joining our Berlin team and I believe that the partnership between GMP and Jung von Matt will be even a stronger one from now on,” said Jean-Remy von Matt, co-founder JvM.

Mihai Gongu is one of the most famous creative directors in the CEE. He earned over 100 trophies in internal and international competitions, including Grand Prix at Eurobest, Golden Drum and Effie, Gold at ADC Awards and NYF, Silver at Clio and Bronze at EPICA. He contributed to the success of GMP Advertising when the agency was chosen two times, in 2013 and 2015, as The Independent Agency of the Year at Golden Drum, being the only Romanian agency that earned this title.
