GeBOC, part of HP group, trains employees with EU funds

Global eBusiness Operations Center (GeBOC), part of the Hewlett- Packard group, started an extensive project to train its employees to use one of the languages of European/regional circulation. “This project is about developing the linguistic competences of the employees,” said Alexander Weigl (pictured), General Manager of GeBOC.

The project is co-financed via the European Social Fund through the Operational Sectorial Programme Human Resources Development 2007-2013 and it will be implemented over a one year period. The total value of the project is EUR 360,000.

A total of 321 employees will go through this training, as they are in charge with ensuring the support for internal and external clients. Participants will undergo certification training in using foreign languages such as French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Dutch.

GeBOC offers business support for HP and its partners in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA region). Currently, there are more than 2,000 employees working in the Center of Services in Bucharest. The activity of GeBOC is structured to offer support for the following business units: imaging and printing group, personal systems group, enterprise business and financial services.
