Russian chess player Gari Kasparov will come for the first time to Romania. A world champion for 15 years in a row, he will hold a talk on the role of strategic thinking in business.
A US resident, Kasparov was the first major supporter of the democratic reforms of the Soviet Union and endorsed the reforms implemented by Boris Yeltsin. Kasparov retired from professional chess in 2005 and has since become a proponent of the pro-democracy movement in Russia.
He is a strong critic of Russian president Vladimir Putin and left Russia and moved to New York in 2013 to avoid arrest. Since 2012, Kasparov has served as the chairman of the Human Rights Foundation based in New York. Kasparov will come to Romania at the invitation of Profit.ro.
