Forbes has compiled a global index of the highest paid celebrities in 2017 – over a third of them come from outside the United States. The UK has 12 entries, and Canada has four. In total, 20 percent of the celebrities on the list are from Europe and 5 percent are from Asia.

For musicians, streaming-related income surged significantly in 2017 – it was up 118 percent, having reached USD 387 million.

Although there are 10 male actors in the ranking, not a single actress made the cut. Women comprise only 16 percent of the world’s top-earning celebrities, with only one new woman entering from last year’s ranking.

Here are the top 5 highest paid celebrities:

Cristiano Ronaldo | Net Worth: USD 93 million – His contract extension with Real Madrid will bring him over USD 50 million over four years

Drake | Net Worth: USD 94 million – He was the most-streamed artist on the planet last year

J.K. Rowling | Net Worth: USD 95 million – Returns in the ranking after a three year hiatus, after the release of her latest novel, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

Beyonce | Net Worth: USD 105 million – The Formation World Tour took her to nine figures

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs | Net Worth: USD 130 million – Nearly two decades after appearing on the cover of the first-ever Celebrity 100 ranking, Diddy earns the title of the highest-earning entertainer. The majority of his 2017 income comes from selling one third of his clothing line for around USD 70 million. He also made a lucrative Diageo Ciroc vodka partnership and had a Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour.
