Fintech company Ebury opens Bucharest office

Fintech company Ebury, specialising in transborder payments and development credits, opens its first Romanian store. The office will be led by Johan Gabriels.

The Bucharest office is the 15th launched by the company, spread over 13 countries and three continents in the past 5 years. Ebury plans to open up to 10 new offices at a global level and reach 1,000 employees by the end of the year. Currently the company has around 650 employees.

Johan Gabriels, who previously occupied several positions in the financial and banking sectors, was appointed general manager of Romanian operations with the objective to offer fin tech solutions to local companies involved in global commerce.

“We are thrilled to bring to the Romanian market financial solutions that are truly innovative that will certainly change the way in which we will conduct international from now on. Ebury aims to offer a level of service available until now mainly to large corporations, helping thus a growing number of companies in Romania grow internationally,” Ebury Romania general manager Gabriels said.

Headquartered in London, Ebury was created in 2009 and serves over 24,000 corporate clients.
