The Finance minister Ionut Misa said that the goverment is not considering taking any loan from international financial institutions or any private banks group in a crisis situation.

PNL vice-president Florin Citu said this Thursday that the Ministry is preparing to take the second biggest loan in the Romanian history, in a crisis situation. The loan could be taken from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank and the European Commission (EC), according to Citu.

„The Public Finance Ministry is preparing the negotiation team to take the biggest loan in the Romanian history. Dragnea and Valcov are not saying yet where we’ll take the loan from. IMF+World Bank+ EC or a private banks group with tight connections with a country visited recently by Liviu Dragnea?”, wrote Citu on his Facebook page.

But the Ministry announced officially that it is not planning to take a loan of a kind. It already announced the financing necessary for 2018 and the instruments that it aims to use through “The program of state bonds issuing for 2018” published on its site. Thus, it will borrow approximately RON 50 billion in 2018 from the internal market and other EUR 4.5-5 billion will be attracted from the external market.”
