EU’s chief negotiator Michel Barnier to visit Romania on October 2 for talks with Iohannis, Dancila and parliamentary commissions

Michel Barnier, the EU’s chief negotiator, will visit Bucharest on October 2. The EU official is scheduled to meet with Romanian president Klaus Iohannis, PM Viorica Dancila, Senate Speaker Calin Popescu Tariceanu, Chamber of Deputies speaker Liviu Dragnea, and Victor Negrescu, minister elevate for European affairs.

Michel Barnier will also hold talks with representatives of the joint commissions for European affairs and foreign policy of the Chamber of Deputies and of the Senate as well as those of the joint special committee of the Chamber of Deputies and of the Senate for the coordination of the parliamentary activity necessary for the preparation of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Romania will take on the presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first semester of 2019.
