Romania takes up the first spot in the European Union by the growth registered in the construction sector in the last month of 2010, an Eurostat survey, quoted by Mediafax, reveals. Growth stood at 17.6 percent in December compared to November. Compared to Decmber 2009, the December 2010 activity dropped by 1.9 percent. In the last semester of 2010 the local construction activity grew by 10.7 percent compared to the similar period of 2009. Lithuania saw a 10.8 percent growth.
At EU level, the volume of construction works went down by 3.1 percent in December compared to November and by 1.9 percent in between October and December.
