Three years after selling Aviva Investors (Certinvest at that time) to British group Aviva, Eugen Voicu, the company’s CEO and founder buys back its majority stake. The transaction, whose value has not been made public, was approved by the National Securities Commission (CNVM) on Wednesday. The entire management buyout process is expected to be finished by November 1, according to company representatives.

The asset management company will rebrand in order to mark the change but will continue its partnership with Aviva, company representatives added.

Voicu founded Certinvest in 1994 and sold it in December 2007 for a value which was kept confidential at that time but was estimated at around EUR 3 million. Throughout this time he served as the company’s CEO, a position he will continue to hold.
