Romanian manufacturer of pavements and curbs, Elis Pavaje, controlled by the Gota family in Alba County, took over the Fruhwald vibropressed concrete factory from Vintu de Jos from the Austrian company Frühwald in a EUR 1 million transaction.

The Vintu de Jos factory produces pavements and borders for industrial works with a nominal capacity of 1,000 sqm/day and concrete bricks (nominal capacity 75 mc/day), with 18 employees, and by the end of next year it is planned to supplement the personnel scheme to 30 people.

In addition to Elis Pavaje concrete slabs and concrete products, Elis Agregate, a company founded in 2003, is part of the Elis group, which supplies the gravel and pitcher with its own raw materials for Elis Pavaje production as well as for sale.

Elis Pavaje owns four production units in Petreşti and Vintu de Jos (Alba), Stoeneşti (Prahova), Secuienii Noi (Neamt), which provide capacities for a total volume of about 16.000 mp/day. Last year, with 375 employees, the company had business of RON 161.1 million and a net profit of RON 9.1 million.

The Austrian company Fruhwald, which entered the local market in 2006, had a turnover of RON 4.6 million last year and a loss of over RON 1 million.
