The online retailer Elefant.ro announces the opening of 12 pick-up points in 2017, out of which six in Bucharest and six in other cities from Romania, in a bid to accomodate growing demand.
The network of Elefant.ro is set to reach 42 delivery points at the end of 2017, in 23 Romanian cities, out of which 18 in Bucharest.
The investment for the expansion in 2017 amounts to over EUR 2 million.
“We started the opening of delivery points Elefant at the end of 2015, without foreseeing exactly what impact we’ll have. We opened afterwards the spaced dedicated to Elefant clients from the subway in Bucharest. Then the street delivery points from several cities followed at the end of 2016, so that were opened 30 pick-up points Elefant,” said Dan Vidrascu, CEO elefant.ro.
Besides the six pick-up points from Bucharest, Elefant will open this year another delivery space in Iasi, the first one being functional since 2015 and other five points in Piatra Neamt, Suceava, Pitesti, Targu Mures and Hunedoara.
In 2016, Elefant registered a growth of the online revenues by approximately 70 percent compared with 2015 to around EUR 27 million.
