Dunapack starts construction of its second Romanian factory in Bolintin

Dunapack Rambox, the local subsidiary of Dunapack Packaging, part of the Austrian group of companies Prinzhorn, begins the construction of the new plant in Romania, for which it bought over 11 hectares of land in Bolintin, close to Bucharest area.

The company already owns a 233 employees factory in Sfantu Gheorghe, Covasna. The new 22,000-square-meter factory will be equipped with a high-speed corrugated cardboard machine and several processing machines to provide packaging solutions.

The annual production capacity is projected at 180 million sqm per year, and the total production of both factories will reach 300 million sqm.

Last year, the Covasna factory, reached a turnover of RON 140 million lei and a net profit of RON 3.5 million.

Dunapack have 19 factories located in 10 countries and it is part of Austrian-based Prinzhorn Group, which has 4,122 employees in 20 factories in 10 countries, and is among the European market leaders in the packaging, paper and recycling industry.

The group, owned by the Prinzhorn family, has an annual turnover of more than EUR 1.2 billion.
