The minister of Finance, Anca Dragu, thinks that the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) should adapt its policies to the latest international realities.
“We believe that the voice of countries where the operates should be more transparent and to weigh more in the decision of the EBRD, as we are all responsible for our actions in the face of citizens in our countries,” said Dragu, who was in London, for the election of a new head of the lender.
Dragu has underlined the fact that Romania can attract new financing from international institutions to develop fresh investments, including though Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).
The EBRD has financed 383 projects in Romania totaling EUR 7.1 billion in investments. The private sector has a share of 62 percent in EBRD’s financing portfolio.
