In a Facebook post today, Liviu Dragnea announced that the new minister of Waters and Forests will be decided upon during the PSD National Executive Committee meeting which will take place in the following days.
The former minister, Doina Pana, announced on Wednesday that she would step down due to poor health.
Dragnea thanked Doina Pana for her “remarkable activity” as minister and said that projects like the Forest Radar, the new Forestry Code and the reduction in illegal deforestation would not have been possible without her involvement.
Upon the announcement of her resignation, Doina Pana presented an activity report that reviewed her achievements in the two terms she served as minister of Water and Forests, the first one in the Ponta government between March and December 2014.
Doina Pana is also a member of Romania’s Chamber of Deputies, position which she will continue to hold, and a vice president of PSD.
