The fourth edition of SMEs How-To, the Business Review event dedicated to providing fresh and relevant information for the SME sector, is coming up soon. Taking place on April 21 at Point Art Hub, the event will showcase the issues and opportunities of each phase in a company’s development and present businesses in a holistic, integrative perspective.

Success stories, insights and strategies will be presented in four stages: DEFINE, OPTIMIZE, SUSTAIN, GO BIG each having a success story as the starting point of the discussions. Leaders of prestigious companies will share their experience and will debate key issues that business face alongside investors, consultants and representatives of the public sector.

The first session will start from the story of Greentek, a business “Proudly made in Romania” that manufactures 100% sustainable LED lightning systems and exports its products in countries like Germany, Austria, Israel, Switzerland, Poland and Russia. Victor Cotrutz, the founder of the company, will discuss with the other speakers about innovation and creative resources for entrepreneurs, the importance of investing in people and risk management. Daniela Marin, from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development will also touch upon the subject of accessible grants for SME consulting services.

The second panel of discussions will be centred around business optimization strategies and innovative technologies for greater competitive advantages. The starting point of the debate will be Smart Bill, the most widely-used invoicing software in Romania. The topics to be discussed vary from the most important stages in a company’s evolutions, technologies for resource optimization and growth, as well as strategies for attracting investments, and will be discussed by Mircea Capatana, co-founder of Smart Bill, Mihai Sfintescu, private equity and venture capital funds administrator and Dragos Pislaru, the economic counsellor of the Prime Minister of Romania.

The Minister of Communications and Informational Society, Marius Bostan, will deliver the first keynote speech of the day

The main objective of the third stage – MAINTAIN – is the examination of methods market share strengthening, the importance of communications consulting and long-term brand strategies. To further emphasize these topics, Monica Cadogan, founder and CEO of Vivre will share her experience as the leader of the biggest Home & Deco online retailer in Central Europe. This session will then be followed by the keynote speech of Andrei Pitis, founder and CTO of Vector Watch. Winner of the “Innovation in Technology” award at Business Review Awards 2016, Vector Watch is a success story about technology and innovation, doubled by the know-how of an experienced team of designers and entrepreneurs.

The last dialogue of the day will be focused upon the expansion of a business on international markets and its eligibility for attracting funds with this aim. Marius Stefan, co-founder of Autonom Rent a Car will share his knowledge on this topic alongside experts in funding, from both private and public organizations, such as:  Ramona Ivan, Director Directia Relatii Externe si Finantari Structurale la CEC Bank, Cristian Nacu, Partener, Enterprise Investors si Mihaela Toader, General Director of the General Directorate of Analysis, Programming and Evaluation in the Ministry of European Funds.
