Dinu Patriciu extends media investment with Click radio; Adevarul TV station on the pipeline

Dinu Patriciu, the owner of Adevarul Holding, announced today in a press conference that Click FM will be on air starting September 19. He also added that Adevarul TV, a television station that is currently broadcasting through the internet, will be launched in the following months.

Patriciu considers that print media is doomed unless more newsstands are opened. The current 5.600 are insufficient for improving print publication circulation. A network of 20.000 newsstands would increase sales per edition. The retail chain comprising of 800 MIC.RO, MACRO and Minimax Discount stores contributed to the survival of the print business, according to the Adevarul Holding owner.

Dinu Patriciu also stated that he is not considering implementing a pay-wall for the digital version of Adevarul newspaper. In fact, indirect income is gained through several selling vehicles like Adevarul shop, where various products are sold, ranging from books to health and beauty accessories. Patriciu mentioned that 70 percent of newspaper sites worldwide are funded indirectly through various means.
