The budget draft for 2018 will be discussed this Monday and Tuesday at Victoria Palace, said the deputy PM Marcel Ciolacu.

He said that a first discussion took place this Monday, where also attended Daniela Pescaru, state secretary at the Public Finance Ministry.

The discussions will continue on Tuesday. The budget draft for the next year might be approved in the Government meeting from Wednesday.

Ciolacu said:  “All fields will have higher budgets. The Ministries, such as transports investments, will have higher budgets and the Healthcare Ministry will have even a higher budget. Also the Education will have a higher budget and the Internal Ministry will have a higher budget than the last year.”

Ciolacu added that the investments will be higher than in 2016.

„Anyways, we hope that investments will be higher than last year by 25 percent,” said the deputy PM.

He added that the budget draft is based on a higher GDP.

The Government estimates a GDP growth by 5.5 percent next year, up to RON 907.85 million, according to the summary of the draft budget for 2018, made by the Finance Ministry.

On November 30, PM  Mihai Tudose said that Healthcare, Education and Infrastructure are the focus of the budget for 2018.

„Healthcare, Education, Infrastructure are the focus of this budget, keeping the 2 percent for Defence from a higher GDP,” said Tudose.
