Cosmote Romania posts revenues of EUR 120.6mln and 6.5mln clients in Q3 2011

Cosmote Romania posted total revenues of EUR 120.6 million in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2011, ended September 30. This represents a 2.6 percent increase on a yearly basis, announced the Greek group OTE, main shareholder in the company.

The EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization) rose to EUR 29.5 million, an increase of 26.6 percent versus Q3 2010.

The EBITDA margin stood at 24.5 percent.

The total number of clients of Cosmote Romania, including Zapp clients, reached 6.5 million at the end of September 2011, having decreased by 7.3 percent compared to the previous year. Of these, 22.8 percent are postpay customers and the rest are prepay clients.

Blended ARPU (Average Revenue Per User), at 5.4 Euro for Q3 2011, increased by 15 percent versus Q3 2010.

“We will continue to focus on the corporate and broadband segments, as well as on network enhancement, latest technologies, customer care, retail and continue to create long-term value for our shareholders”, said Konstantinos Apostolou, Cosmote Romania’s Chief Financial Officer.

In Q3, 2011, the business segment grew by more than 10 percent versus Q2, 2011.

Service revenues grew by 7 percent in Q3, compared to the same quarter last year.

In the last three months, the EVDO coverage for high speed mobile internet has grown by 13.5 percent, up to 88 percent population coverage.

The operator is also investing in developing its national sales distribution channel, which included, at the end of third quarter, approximately 600 points of sale across the country.

Cosmote Romania currently has a market share of approximately 24 percent.
