Revenues of telecom operator Cosmote Romania in the first half of 2011 reached 221.3 million Euro, down by 3.7 percent compared to the same period last year.
Revenues in the second quarter of the year reached 114 million Euro, an increase of 6.2 percent versus Q1 2011. However, compared to Q2 last year the operator’s revenues decreased by 0.9 percent.
EBITDA profitability rose by 21 percent in Q2 2011 compared to the same quarter last year and by 26.3 percent compared to the previous quarter. The EBITDA margin stood at 19.8 percent.
Blended average-revenue-per-user (ARPU) for Q2 2011 increased by 9 percent, to EUR 5.23, compared to Q1 2011.
Cosmote’s EBITDA rose by approximately 21 percent up to EUR 22.6 million, following the integration of Zapp (Telemobil).
COSMOTE’s total customer base in Romania, including Zapp, was 6.6 million at the end of June 2011, of which 22.6 percent was postpaid.
The number of port-ins, amounted on average to over 4,000 customers per month in H1 2011,according to Konstantinos Apostolou, COSMOTE Romania’s Chief Financial Officer.
Cosmote Romania has a market share of approximately 24 percent. The company’s strategy is to continue to strengthen its position in the broadband and business segments, upgrade its network and expand its products and services portfolio.
