The Constitutional Court of Romania has set April 19 as the date when it will debate the opposition parties’ second round of challenges related to the changes proposed by the PSD-ALDE coalition to justice laws.

PNL and USR have identified 37 possible constitutional issues with the new amendments, related to three of the laws the coalition is attempting to change.

PNL’s Gabriel Andronache said: “We’ve submitted to the General Secretariat of the Deputies’ Chamber our notices on the re-examined regulations in the justice laws. We’ve notified CCR again because evidently, what our parliamentary majority colleagues did in the re-examination procedure had nothing to do with what CCR wrote in their previous three decisions.”
